Crispy Fish Recipe
Ingredients:
- 4 fish fillets (about 6 oz each)
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon paprika (optional)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup breadcrumbs (panko for extra crispiness)
- Vegetable oil (for frying)
- Lemon wedges (for serving)
- Fresh parsley (for garnish)
Instructions:
- Prepare the Fish:
- Pat the fish fillets dry with paper towels. This will help them get crispy.
- Set Up the Breading Station:
- In one shallow bowl, combine the flour, salt, pepper, paprika, and garlic powder.
- In a second bowl, beat the eggs.
- In a third bowl, place the breadcrumbs.
- Bread the Fish:
- Dredge each fillet in the flour mixture, shaking off the excess.
- Dip it into the beaten eggs, allowing the excess to drip off.
- Finally, coat the fillet with breadcrumbs, pressing gently to adhere.
- Heat the Oil:
- In a large skillet, heat about 1/4 inch of vegetable oil over medium-high heat. To check if the oil is hot enough, drop a small piece of bread into it; if it sizzles, it’s ready.
- Fry the Fish:
- Carefully add the breaded fish fillets to the hot oil. Fry for about 3-4 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Do not overcrowd the pan; you may need to do this in batches.
- Drain:
- Once cooked, transfer the fish to a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.
- Serve:
- Serve the crispy fish with lemon wedges and garnish with fresh parsley. Enjoy with your favorite dipping sauce or side dishes!
Tips:
- For added flavor, marinate the fish in lemon juice and seasonings for 15-30 minutes before breading.
- You can also bake the breaded fish in a preheated oven at 400°F (200°C) for about 15-20 minutes for a healthier option.
Enjoy your crispy fish!
